SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - ES ACTION (PUBLIC) - Council Appointee Evaluation - Mitchell

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting was held on January 13, 2020 at 6:31 p.m. with Council President Hare presiding. Members present were Mr. Anderson, Mr. Sudler, Mr. Neil, Mr. Slavin, Mr. Polce, Mr. Taylor, and Mr. Lindell. Mr. Cole was absent. Mayor Christiansen was also present. Council staff members present were Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. McDowell. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mr. Neil moved for adoption of the agenda, seconded by Mr. Lindell and unanimously carried. Mr. Neil moved to recess into Executive Session pursuant to 29 Del. C. §10004 (b)(9) - Personnel matters in which the names, competency and abilities of individual employees are discussed, unless the employee requests that such a meeting be open. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lindell and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting recessed into Executive Session at 6:31 p.m. The Executive Session adjourned at 7:02 p.m. ACTION RESULTING FROM THE EXECUTIVE SESSION Council Appointee Evaluation - Donna S. Mitchell, City Manager During the executive session, members of Council were briefed on Mrs. Donna Mitchell’s planned retirement and her goals for the next ten months. Mr. Polce moved to approve Mrs. Mitchell’s retirement and to permit the inclusion of her previous service from June 1978 through July 1989 (11 years) to calculate her retirement benefits. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lindell and unanimously carried. Mr. Slavin moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Taylor and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m. TRACI A.
