Design Committee Vacancy Window Clings o No movement on that as of yet, due to last minute grant opportunities. o Diane and Tina saw a parchment style one with inspirational quotes that seemed in line with out theme. Logo at the bottom. o Are we going for a historical feel or more minimalist? Laura and Rose will come up with some middle of the road options. Former Sears Bldg./Bus Stop Improvements o Tina sent out photos of planters with spikes on the edges to keep vagrants off the area. o Would like committee to research ideas. Elena Stewart and Carrie Hart to look at ideas and sent to everyone when they seem them. o Removable ramp or something creative so steps could be reused at a later date. Wayfinding Signage- tabled until later New Business o Arms and other pieces missing from banners, especially on corners. Did not use designs on banners in an organized manner. Looks very haphazard. o Kristin to write comments and Tina to send to City o Elena suggested getting new banners and expanding “downtown” focus to State St. between the Green and Division. Tina and Elena listed challenges to this. o Diane brought up FY21-22 workplan. Committee is fine with budget. Public Comments- None Next Meeting Date: Wednesday, May 10, 2021 The Design Committee will work to improve the appearance of the downtown Dover area and to educate the public and private sector about good design principles.
