BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOVER, IN COUNCIL
MET:
That Section 14-8, Excessive Noise Prohibited, of the Dover Code be amended by adding a new
paragraph to Subsection (b), as follows:
(17) Engine Compression Brakes. No person shall operate an engine compression
brake within the City of Dover limits, with the exception of emergency
vehicles where the use of said compression brake is necessary for the
protection of persons or property. “Engine compression brake” refers to any
motor vehicle brake that is operated by the compression of the engine of the
motor vehicle or any unit or part thereof.
