SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - ES ACTION (PUBLIC) - Extension of Benefits

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting was held on July 24, 2017 at 5:32 p.m. with Council President Slavin presiding. Members present were Mr. Anderson, Mr. Hare, Mr. Lindell, Mr. Neil, and Mr. Polce. Mr. Cole, Mr. Lewis, and Mr. Sudler were absent. Mayor Christiansen was also present. Council staff members present were Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. McDowell. Other staff members present were Chief Mailey (arrived at 5:32 p.m.; departed at 5:37 p.m.). ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mr. Neil moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Mr. Lindell and unanimously carried. Mr. Hare moved to recess into Executive Session pursuant to 29 Del. C.§10004 (b)(2) - Preliminary Discussions on Site Acquisitions for Any Publicly Funded Capital Improvements, or Sales or Leases of Real Property; and 29 Del. C. §10004 (b)(6) - Discussion of the content of documents, excluded from the definition of "public record" in §10002 of this title where such discussion may disclose the contents of such documents (§10002 (l)(1) Any personnel, medical or pupil file, the disclosure of which would constitute an invasion of personal privacy, under this legislation or under any State or federal law as it relates to personal privacy). The motion was seconded by Neil and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting recessed into Executive Session at 5:33 p.m. The Executive Session adjourned at 6:00 p.m. ACTION RESULTING FROM THE EXECUTIVE SESSION Request for Approval of Extension of Pay Benefits During the Executive Session, members of Council considered a request for approval of an extension of pay benefits. Mr. Hare moved to extend the full pay benefits for the individual discussed during Executive Session for another 90 days. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lindell and unanimously carried. Mr. Neil moved to adjourn the Special Council Meeting, seconded by Mr. Hare and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting adjourned at 6:02 p.m. TRACI A. McDOWELL CITY CLERK
