Workplan update – Diane Laird • Diane continues to work with each committee to develop and finalize draft for April delivery to the board for review consideration. • Economic Vitality committee will focus more on traditional recruitment/retention. • All committee chairs have been offered opportunity to take a break, thus there will be new infusion of volunteers and committee chairs as some have chosen to take a break. Wesley Update – President Bob Clark • State/private collaboration would strengthen Welsey offering, and state investment is critical, especially considering healthcare course of study. City/State partnerships are strong. Retaining talent in state is a goal. • Sports are strong, particularly track team, individuals. • Constabilization of guards and safety done in concert with CDPD to ensure safety of students and nearby community. • Welsey is working with Becker Morgan on plans for the former Dover Library. • Friends of Old Dover to lease old carriage house for museum. • Clinic to be provided; working with CERTS for student clinical and clinic for community. Recommended resignation from Parking and Safety committee. Three and possibly four developers have expressed interest in responding to the RFP. Per Board President Evans, anticipate that a March board meeting will not likely be held, though the April board meeting will be a very important meeting.
