SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
A Special Council Meeting was held on August 8, 2011 at 8:03 p.m. with Council President Leary
presiding. Members present were Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Russell, Dr. McGlumphy, Mr. Lynn,
Mr. Bonar, Mr. Hare, and Mr. Hutchison. Mrs. Williams was absent. Others present were
Mayor Carey, Mr. Koenig, Mrs. Mitchell, Deputy City Solicitor Pepper, and Mrs. McDowell.
AGENDA ADDITIONS/DELETIONS
Mr. Bonar moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Dr. McGlumphy and unanimously
carried.
Mr. Bonar moved to recess into executive session to discuss legal matters, seconded by
Mr. Hutchison and unanimously carried.
Meeting recessed at 8:04 p.m. and reconvened at 8:13 p.m.
UPDATE - WARD TRANSFORMER SUIT
During the executive session, members were briefed on the General Notice/Demand/Consent Decree
Letter for the Ward Transformer Superfund Site in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina.
Mr. Bonar moved to retain the services of William A. White of Moore & Van Allen PLLC to
represent the City of Dover in the Ward Transformer site matter. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Lynn and unanimously carried.
By unanimous consent, the meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
