Pitts Recreation Center has been very well received by the residents of the City of Dover. We have been able to offer a variety of programs and activities that are being enjoyed by many in the greater Dover community and beyond. However, the popularity of the programs offered has created many challenges for us. One of these issues is related to the provision of transportation to our facility. Currently, there is no existing public transportation available to the Pitts Center. On behalf of the Mayor and City Council, I would request that the Delaware Transit Corporation consider modifying an existing Dover bus route to include a stop at the Pitts Center. We believe that this modification would increase accessibility to the Center for young people and for others who rely on public transportation. We look forward to your response regarding the feasibility of altering a bus route to accommodate this request.
