Would be Loockerman Street. That's my main focus is Loockerman Street, and then we'd break off streets, which would be Governors, Queen, New, um because what happen is we're going to be where the crowd is and trying to get them signed up to the program. We want to offer these young men and women opportunity to sign up for the program and pay for their entering the program. Uh we have some donors that's interested in paying their tuition. There's opportunities out here in construction, good paying jobs. I'm paying $60 an hour for just a person to push a broom on a prevailing wage job. And there's a lot of those jobs out there, because Caesar Rodney School District is building two new schools. Dover Capital School District they're building a a new school. So, um down in in Lewes um they're building schools all over the state, and we have to be able to get our Delaware folks on these projects, because I can tell you now, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, they're coming here and taking all these jobs. Look at it. You know, you know, every day all these contracts are going out. Look at the uh state website for procurement. All these projects, millions and millions and millions of dollars. And and they're they're they're not coming home. You know, so therefore we we're fueling another economy, because they spending the money making it here and taking it back to Jersey, Philadelphia, and across the bridge to New Castle.

That's very impactful. So, let's say you're a Delaware family and you have a high school student that's going to graduate and take advantage of the Inspire Scholarship. That might be motivational and inspiring for the parent to go back to school.

Another opportunity, help strengthen our community partnerships. Another good, you know, I gave you one side of the story for staffing, I'm going to give you the other good side. We partnered with DelTech. We had an intern come over this summer, worked here for three months free to learn our systems. Obviously, it's a give-and-take. She learned a lot about, you know, how we work, IT. I was able to turn around and hire that person full-time. She's a local resident that graduated from Dover High, has her associate degree from DelTech, going to get her bachelor's degree from Wilmington College. Now she is a valuable employee for the City of Dover. So that that's a success story. But we got to keep keep that up.

They just opened up a location up in Bear for training. So, they want to have a location across the bridge uh that can handle Kent County and Sussex County. And so when I met with them last week, uh our location will be the location.

The RACE program operates in both New Castle County and Dover. Um we also go into elementary schools, South Dover Elementary and formerly East Dover, um to to bring healing activities to those young people, and they all receive RACE kits um after their training. Um they spend about 8 weeks with our facilitators, and then they graduate into um another part of the work within the school. Currently right now, our Future Culture Creators program is also a statewide program where we serve young people, high school students, ages 14 to 18. They are paid to come and learn workforce development skills. The hard skill for them is civic engagement. So they spend time at um Dover's um Leg Hall, um policy advocating, and they also put on a town hall themselves, youth-led and youth-run, using the IDEATE process. Um we've graduated over 150 young people from this program. They're actually in our office tonight um at 20 East Division Street. Um they're getting ready to leave at 7:00, so they're on the clock working. They the Dover uh cohort will host a town hall on February 3rd, thank you, um from 5:00 to 7:30 um at the 20 East Division Street location. We welcome anyone to come out and be a part to see what these young people have built themselves from start to finish. The unique part of this program is these young people are with us, they're paid to do that civic engagement, but they're also learning how to resume write, how to use the IDEATE process, um interview skills, and when they're finished with us, we place them in employment across the state, and then we follow them for an additional 90 days to make sure that employment sticks, and they have mentorship as they're transitioning into workforce. Next slide, please.

For for 5 years now. Well, we've always we've always um had serviced older uh students. It's harder to get mentors from time for the older kids, so we started in about 5 years ago doing more group mentoring with them. More workforce, um, readiness. We have a program called Beyond School Walls that's very successful that we've been running in Howard High School now um for about 4 years. And we graduated about 17 kids to college last year, which was our first initial year of having them for 4 years. So our goal is to bring that to Dover, as well. That Beyond School Walls program brings in um local community members that have businesses and, you know, they get to tell their story, because we know that um getting through college or finding a career is not black and white, right? It can It can have many roads. So it's good for young people to know the options in front of them. So that is one of our most successful programs right now, and it is a group mentoring, workforce readiness and career training program. Um it's been very successful. We've had partners at for JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, um local businesses throughout the Wilmington area. So we're hoping to do that here as well. Uh we chose Kent County for our hub because we felt like it was the middle of the state, and you know, we had young people here. We heard their cry. They wanted something to do, right? So we that will be our home base as well. We'll be in and and you can have your mentoring near it, too. We want to have activities for Bigs and Littles as well. So that site will be the home for that. We have a cooking class. You can take your mentee and you go to cooking class with them. So that's the goal is to have a hub where they can connect and feel safe.

in the workforce development program, as described already in the application we submitted. Uh, we are partnering with Polytech School District, with NeighborGood Partners for the financial literacy component. We are being advised by Harold Stafford, a former Secretary of Labor of Delaware. So, um, I was given all this, I was pleased to be able to answer the questions in staff's letter that that suggested to me that they're we've pretty well established our fitness for receiving this money. Now I'd just like to say a little bit about the program.
