SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING - ES ACTION (PUBLIC) - Potential Land Acquisition

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING A Special Council Meeting was held on June 13, 2017 at 5:02 p.m. with Council President Slavin presiding. Members present were Mr. Anderson (arrived at 5:09 p.m.), Mr. Lewis, Mr. Lindell (arrived at 5:06 p.m.), Mr. Neil, Mr. Polce, and Mr. Sudler. Mr. Cole and Mr. Hare were absent. Mayor Christiansen was also present. Council staff members present were Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. McDowell. Mr. Kirby Hudson was also present. ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mr. Sudler moved for approval of the agenda, seconded by Mr. Neil and unanimously carried. Mr. Lewis moved to recess into Executive Session pursuant to 29 Del. C. §10004 (b)(2) - preliminary discussions on site acquisitions for any publicly funded capital improvements, or sales or leases of real property. The motion was seconded by Mr. Neil and unanimously carried. The Special Council Meeting recessed into Executive Session at 5:03 p.m. The Executive Session adjourned at 5:23 p.m. ACTION RESULTING FROM THE EXECUTIVE SESSION Potential Land Acquisition During the Executive Session, members of Council were briefed on the potential acquisition of property. Mr. Sudler moved to authorize Mrs. Donna Mitchell, Acting City Manager, to accept the proposal from Century Engineering for $27,000 for the Architectural and Engineering assessments of two (2) properties. The motion was seconded by Mr. Neil and unanimously carried. Mr. Lewis moved for adjournment of the Special Council Meeting, seconded by Mr. Neil and unanimously carried.
