DESIGN COMMITTEE MEETING Wednesday, October 10, 2018 – 12:00-1:00 pm CEN DEL Foundation Building Minutes I. Welcome/Call to order- Kristin Pleasanton, Committee Chair II. Roll call- Kristin Pleasanton, Tricia Arndt, Carrie Hart, Will Grimes, Dawn Melson, Stephanie Adams, Diane Laird, Josh Nobling III. Approval of Minutes- Tricia, seconded by Will IV. New Business a. New Façade Grants-new request from D&S Investments for exterior painting, window trim and overhang for 147-153 S. Governors Ave, approved for $427.50 b. Josh presents updated mural design- latest design included modifications suggested by committee, all were pleased with the changes and excited about moving forward. Spring installation anticipated. Painting on cloth (inside) to begin in winter. NBB Grant extended to June 2019 so timing is good. Installation should take 2 days, wall prep will need to be completed prior to install. Discussion of ways to use social media in conjunction w/ mural- QR code on plaque w/ artist’s statement, connecting to volunteers to be involved with painting, etc. c. Upcoming mural mtg w/ Bill Winters-Kristin & Josh to meet on 10/31 to discuss mural design and path forward. V. Old Business a. Update on Sweets & Treats-DDP discussion with building owner and business applicant went well, resulted in revised grant request approved (see above). b. Electrical boxes-positive comments from community on project. Queens Street box to be completed this weekend. Josh doing PNC box soon. Press event anticipated on 10/27. VI. Adjournment
