Dr Pillsbury, entire city council
I spoke with Mr. Knopp and he advised that he only enforces the codes and City Council creates them. If
you review the series of emails below you will see that I was cited for a code violation that does not make
total sense in my opinion. First of all, Pine Valley Rd and adjacent cul-de-sacs were targeted for some
reason - why not all of Dover? Second, the code does not make sense in many cases as mentioned in my
prior emails. Houses that are set way back from the road are barely visible so numbers on the house itself
are useless, however, still required. Would it not make more sense to have the numbers on the mail box?
Since this appears to be a fire department issue, they would see the numbers sooner while approaching
the residence. I suggest that council address this issue and amend the code to allow numbers either on
the house or mailbox and suspend sending out citations until this situation is thoroughly thought out..
Respectfully
Alexander M. Cisar

Mr. Kopp,
My email to Mr. Christiansen and yourself was an appeal to my official citation. Mr. Christiansen advised
he would look in to the matter but as of yet, I have not heard back from him.
Respectfully,
Alexander M Cisar

Mr Cisar I will look into this matter. As a firefighter I know it is important to have these numbers clearly
visible for fast response of emergency services. Best regards Robin

Mr. Mayor,
I received the attached citation for not displaying my house number on the house itself. I
have been living here for 35 years with my house number clearly mounted on my mailbox
post which has never been a problem before. At least half the homes on Pine Valley Road
have numbers on the mailbox and not the house itself. Also, the homes located on cul-de-
sacs (Augusta Ct) are so far in the woods that there is no way anyone would see the
number on the house, so it makes sense to put it on the mail box. My home, not on a cul-
de-sac, also has many trees that obstruct the majority of the front of the house, especially
by the front door where one would expect the number to be located. Could you please look
into this and have the City apply common sense to this requirement. Thank you for your
service to the City,
Respectfully.
