Play from 3:15:16Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
I don't know what that meant, but I'll take it. I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult, but either way, it's all good. Who's next? Anybody next? All righty. We're uh We have Councilman Anderson. The chair recognizes Councilman Anderson.

Play from 3:16:28Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Um, so uh in regards to DelDOT capital projects objectives, do you ever come across a scenario where um what you have implemented may need to be walked back because it's not conducive uh to the business owner or to safety? And I'm talking particularly to I think it's I think it's West Division Street in front of uh Bennie Smith Funeral Home,
Play from 3:33:59Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
where we've had a lot of...
Play from 3:34:49Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Okay. It it I really really really need them to walk that back if possible, you know, because um it impedes upon their business and the when they're dealing with, you know, the bereavement process,
Play from 3:34:52Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Right, but if you could just convey...
Play from 3:35:18Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
that we are interested um because we've brought this up before, and not to take up your time, but since we're on, you know, bicycle lane, because I do the bicycling as well, um it's not that safe and um you know, it does impede upon, you know, the bereavement uh process.
Play from 3:35:21Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Yes, if you can definitely convey that, I would appreciate that. However, um moving away from that topic, still on a biking topic, um my fellow councilman uh Rocha, Councilman Rocha and I, we've talked about the multi-use pathway. Instead of uh the the 4-foot walkway, where are we with implementing the 6-foot or the 8-foot asphalt multi-purpose, so that those individuals uh who feel safer riding a bike, riding, you know, um See, when it comes to e-bikes versus um those individuals who are pedaling, there's a difference. Um, I know I feel safer, I don't have an e-bike, but I feel safer on the sidewalk versus um in the bike lane.
Play from 3:35:41Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Those who have the e-bike, um they don't have to really pay too much attention to, you know, bicycling, actually, the physical component of bicycling, and then also looking to see if the traffic is coming, because they they don't have to cycle, they're just, you know, cruising and then looking. Um, so in other words, where are we, or is there any plans to convert some of these sidewalks like we did on Salisbury Road to multipurpose uh 6- to 8-foot uh walkways? I think that would be a little bit more conducive uh try also going green, you know. I think that would be more conducive for us like they're doing in Lewes and and Rehoboth Beach. So, have y'all had some discussion in that matter?
Play from 3:36:11Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Thank you. Thank you, uh, Council President. Ah, and with with with the council, uh, president's permission, I see two young gentlemen with papers that look like they have something to say. They've been stellar, and it's been a long night. Um, and, um, I if I know we don't go back to public form, but these young men have been here and stellar. And I I want to yield some of my time to them. First, I have a couple questions. What school do you go to?
Play from 4:14:11Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
You go to Campus Community?
Play from 4:14:28Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
All right. So when you get done, what's your teacher? Cuz we want to email them how about your social studies, your civics lesson. So when you get done, tell him your teacher's name, and they're going to get an email from Councilman Boggerty to say that you were doing civic uh work today. Hopefully, you get some extra credit. All right. Now, go ahead.
Play from 4:14:30Sep 29, 2026, Council Committee of the Whole Meeting
Hold on. I have some questions. You can't get away that fast. So you go away to which which what sport do you play?
